Park Lane Academy

Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health

Emotional wellbeing and mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

At Park Lane Academy we consider the development of our staff, parents and children's mental health and wellbeing to be as important as we do their physical well-being and we promote its importance both within our curriculum and through the support we offer our children and their families.

Our commitment encompasses ongoing work in 8 priority areas:

Supporting our students, families and staff with their Mental Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of all we do. Park Lane Academy has achieved Silver in the School Mental Health Award and have a team of Mental Health First Aiders and highly skilled Pastoral team in school to provide this support.

At Park Lane Academy we have a wellbeing hub in the centre of school manned by our safeguarding team who offer support, guidance and signposting to all. As a MHST (Mental Health Support Team) school we commission outside agencies such as Noah's Ark, Branching Out and Northpoint to name a few, to come into school to work with our students and families.

If there is more information or support you require on any aspect of looking after your own emotional wellbeing or mental health, or that of someone you know, please do not hesitate to contact us at the academy.
