Outline of Subject: This qualification is for students who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in child development. Within the course there are three mandatory units:

R018: Health and well-being for child development - written examination 40%

R019: Understand the equipment and nutritional needs of children from birth to five years - coursework.

R020: Understand the development of a child from birth to five years – course work.

How will I learn?

You will study three mandatory coursework units, covering the fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding required for the Child Development.

Unit R018: Health and well-being for child development.

Unit R019: Understand the equipment and nutritional needs of children from birth to five years.

Unit R020: Understand the development of a child from birth to five years.

Where will it take me?  This subject can lead to further study at level 3/post 16 of Child Development who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills. As it is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, it will prepare students for further qualifications in Child Care, Health and Social Care, Psychology, Sociology and Biology.
